Javion Shavonte Sullivan, US Army Specialist from Fort Mill, South Carolina January 1, 2018
Javion Shavonte, 24, of the Texas-based 16th Signal Company, 11th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, died in a noncombat incident in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. He was serving in Operation Inherent Resolve. In 2015 he joined the Army to make a better life and to serve his country. He leaves behind a wife and daughter. Javion was a star high school wrestler. His wife, Raven, said, "Jay was so devoted, headstrong and motivated. He kept his friends encouraged. He was a great father, friend, husband and soldier. There are so many words to explain him, and the love he had for what he was doing and the love he had for me and his daughter. He regretted nothing and made the best of everything."
